Town officials aren’t wasting any time taking a stand on the growing issue of legalizing recreational marijuana.
In light of Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo’s pushing for it, and the Westchester district attorney’s announcement that his office will no longer prosecute “low-level” offenses, they are looking at ways to nip any attempts to sell the stuff in the bud.
“Like we did with vape shops, we kind of jumped out in front” of the issue, said Supervisor Rick Morrissey at the Town Board’s Feb. 7 work session.
