Easthampton recreational cannabis ordinance headed to full City Council on March 21

EASTHAMPTON — Following months of work by the Planning Board and Ordinance Subcommittee, a recreational marijuana zoning bill is headed to the full City Council.

The two bodies held joint public hearings on Feb. 20 and 26, and the Planning Board voted 5-0 to recommend the draft ordinance. Now a final public hearing is set for March 21, said City Council President Joseph McCoy.

Under the bill, no cannabis establishment may be located within 350 feet of an existing school, measured by the “typical pedestrian path of travel, from nearest primary entrance to nearest primary entrance.”
