Recreational marijuana could soon be legally sold in San Jose.
On Tuesday, the city council will vote on whether to allow the sale and delivery of marijuana to anyone over the age of 21-starting January 1st.
California voters approved the legalization of recreational marijuana last November with Prop 64. But, the San Jose City Council passed a ban on recreational pot.
Now, the council is ready to revisit the issue.
Councilmembers are considering allowing the city’s 16 currently operating medical marijuana dispensaries to also sell, and deliver recreational marijuana.
Councilman Johnny Khamis said he supports the change because it will allow the city to tax
