House postpones action on medical marijuana until Monday

CHARLESTON — The House of Delegates voted to postpone until Monday action on a bill that would legalize medical marijuana.

Lawmakers acted Friday morning on a motion from Delegate John Shott, R-Mercer, to give themselves time to study the West Virginia Medical Cannabis Act and make any changes needed.

Shott said the biggest reason for the two-day delay is to take time to perfect the bill, especially regarding rules on edibles.
