NH inmate admits receiving synthetic cannabinoid in prison

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) – Authorities say a former federal prison inmate in New Hampshire has pleaded guilty to having a synthetic cannabinoid in the prison.

NH1 reports 36-year-old Jason Ponder pleaded guilty in federal court on Thursday to possessing contraband in the Federal Correctional Institution in Berlin.

Authorities say Ponder’s girlfriend visited him in March 2016. Security cameras recorded the woman passing him three small white packages.

Lab tests showed the substance was a synthetic cannabinoid known as AB-Fubinaca.
